哀しい出来事が起きてしましました。９月１１日、誰もがＴＶの画面を見つめて呆然としていたことでしょう。そしてまた、更なる哀しい出来事がまさに始まろうとしています。今後、起こりうるだろう事態を思うと、やりきれない気持ちになり、涙が止まりません。それなのに、今の私にはただただ、何の罪もなくして命を落とした人々のために祈ることしか出来ません。

ある人が私にこんな風に話して下さいました。「愛には愛が、憎しみには憎しみが返る」のだと。武力を持ってする報復は新たなる悲劇を生むでしょう。憎しみは更なる憎しみを増幅させます。暴力の連鎖を断ち切るためには、「何もしない」ことが一番だと私は考えています。哀しみ、祈り、尊い命に想いをはせ、二度と悲劇が起きないように、そして、新しい世の中を作るために、この歌詞の意味を再度かみしめています。
